Non fewer than 1.7 million candidates are expected to sit for 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in April.
The Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede disclosed this one Tuesday at Abeokuta. He said that JAMB intend to increase its capacities of Computer Based Test Centres in order to make April examination Seamless.
“We are expecting 1.7 million candidates to sit for this year’s examination and we want to settle all candidates within a week or there about; that is while we are increasing the capacity of the centres to enable us examine more candidates within a given date.
According to Oloyede, the board cannot promise a hitch free examination, although, he noted that there are innovations ongoing which aimed at sending fraudsters out of their usual business.
He said, we are creating ICT facilities and we want stakeholders, prospective candidates, respected scholars, Institutions and civil societies to come together and critique what they are doing before going far in wrong direction.
He added that the sales of 2017 JAMB for will commence soon and that the body intends to carry out a mock examination for “people who want to test out what they are doing”.
